Haven't had one of Rorschach's Malevolent Benevolence stouts for a while and this is not a gimmicky one, but an actual bourbon barrel aged stout, so here we go.
Sadly, hardly any carbonation, which always ruins a good thing. The thinnest of caramel rings forms on a black surface.
The nose is of perfection: bourbon, malt, chocolate, coffee. The taste is too sweet though (and the lack of carbonation amplifies this), with vanilla and figs added. Still nice and lovely boozy aftertaste.
Overall a drinkable fare and with some tuning and carbonation, this could have been perfect.
