32 ounce crowler, filled on 1/5/18, best by date of 1/7/18 written on the label. Not to be confused with their regular Imperial Breakfast Stout (as I was reminded when I bought this at the taproom earlier today), this version was specially released for their NYE party but luckily they still had some leftover after that event. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around for a really long time. There's also a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is great, I could really smell the coffee when I poured it into the glass. The brew smells like coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and roasted/charred malt. Taste is pretty much like the aroma, but there's also some breadiness noticeable too. It really reminds me of eating a milk/bittersweet chocolate brownie, it has that kind of flavor to it. Not too sweet, not too bitter, and has a good amount of roasty coffee flavor. There's a nice lingering brownie-like finish. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's creamy and coating with a good amount of carbonation. I have to say that this is probably the best brew I've had from Combustion and I've had a lot of their beers. Hopefully this won't be a one time brew, because I'd love to try this again!
