Enjoyed from the tap at the Clintonville location. Pours a reddish brown with very little lacing. Mouthfeel is a little light, but the taste and nose are malty goodness.

Brown color with deep ruby hues, moderate clarity with a creamy persistent beige head
Rich malty aroma with notes of toffee, bread crust, caramel and a nuttyness. Very subtle dark fruity esters, subdued earthyness from hops
Very malt forward, toffee, caramel, nuttyness, bready crust with subtle toastyness. Moderately low earthy hop bitterness with a sweet finish , seems to be well attenuated.
Chewy body with medium low carbonation and noticeable alcohol warmth, not hot bur bordering on unpleasant.
A pretty good example of a wee heavy, but the fusel alcohols are starting to bleed through. Perhaps a little age wouldn't hurt.

32 ounce crowler, filled yesterday on 1/5/18 at the taproom with a best by date of 1/7 written on the label. Served in a Combustion Brewing pint glass, the beer pours a dark reddish/brown color with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like caramel, toasted malt, raisins, and some light herbal hops. Taste is very similar to the aroma, it's mostly sweet and malty with caramel, raisin, toasted malt, dark bread and some smoke and earthy flavors. There's a slight bitterness noticeable too, but this brew is all about the malt! Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. Also smooth and easy enough to drink. I thought this was a good overall Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy, certainly worth a try if you're ever at Combustion!
