I am trying this beer off the tapper at the Clintonville, Ohio taproom location as part of a six sample flight. It poured a clear dark rich mahogany amber with thin khaki ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had subtle bourbon and wheat wine notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with light sweet caramel malt base coupled with dark fruit and bourbon highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

22 ounce bottle, 2018 vintage, bottle #19 of 157. Purchased about a week and a half ago at Combustion at their Mug Club release. Served in a thistle glass, the beer pours a dark reddish/brown color with about a half inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like caramel, vanilla, bourbon, raisins, and toasted malt. For the most part I think the taste is just like the aroma but there's also some oak, dark bread and earthy flavors noticeable too. Taste and aroma are more on the sweet side here. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. Aged in Columbus' own Watershed Distillery bourbon barrels, I think it's a good barrel aged wee heavy. Certainly worth trying if you're at the taproom, hopefully Combustion will make this again in the future. I know that I like it!
