25.4 ounce crowler, filled yesterday at the brewery with a best by date of 4/12 written on the label. Served in a Combustion Mug Club glass, the beer pours a mostly clear dark gold/amber color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells mostly like grainy/bready malt, along with some dried fruit and some floral/spicy hops. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some cooked apple flavor and toasted malt noticeable too. But in general I think this brew is all about the malt! Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and easy enough to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. Always like this Maibock when it comes out each year, not sure why I haven't reviewed it until now. Worth trying if you're ever at the taproom!
