25.4 ounce crowler, filled at the brewery on 4/10, best by date of 4/12 written on the label. Served in a St. Bernardus chalice, the beer pours a brown color with some reddish tints and about a half inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark fruit (plums, prunes, raisins), candi sugar, and a bit of clove. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also the addition of some peppery spice flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. Easy enough to drink, 11% ABV is hidden relatively well. I thought this was a good overall brew, worth a try if you make it to the taproom!
