32 ounce crowler, filled at the brewery earlier today with a best by date of 9/10 written on the label. Served in a Combustion Brewing Mug Club glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch or so tan head that stuck around for a long time. There's a decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells like maple, vanilla, bourbon, roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some burnt/charred malt and oaky flavors noticeable too. All the flavors seem to mesh well with no one flavor overpowering the others, barrel character is very noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and creamy, and easy enough to drink with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good brew, maybe Combustion's best one yet! Definitely worth picking up if you make a stop to the taproom!
