I tried a 10oz pour of the 2024 Maple Bourbon Barrel version on this beer off the tapper at the brewing whilst there for my niece's wedding. Poured an opaque dark with thin ecru ring head that did not leave any lace. The scent had maple sweetness and boozy notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet molasses malt base with bourbon presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

From the 22 oz bottle in a snifter via Bluejacket74---Thanks again! This one is excellent!
This fine brew pours a dark obsidian with thin dark tea highlights and a modest head of
khaki foam that settles to a thin ring with light lacing. Nose of rich maple, moderate bourbon,
cream, coffee, and dark chocolate malts. Flavors exceed the nose with char touched chocolate,
coffee, maple, bourbon, mild brewers licorice, dark fruits, and hints of oak and moderate amounts
of vanilla. Excellent mouth feel for the style; full body, smooth, slick, coating, rich, faint carbonation,
full mouth feel, and a bitter malt and maple / bourbon laced finish.
Overall, a fantastic brew from a great little brewery that could easily expand to markets in southern
Ohio---HINT HINT----Jungle Jim's would run your fine brews any day!
Cheers

22 ounce bottle, released earlier this week (2020 vintage) purchased at the brewery. Served in a Combustion snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stayed around a while. Good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like bourbon, maple, vanilla, roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some burnt/charred malt, oak and dark fruit flavors. All the flavors seem to be well balanced with no one flavor overpowering the others. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good overall brew, definitely one of the best ones Combustion has made. Hopefully this one will make a return sooner rather than later!
