32 ounce crowler, purchased and filled at the brewery yesterday with a best by date of 2/14 written on the label. Served in a Combustion Mug Club pint glass, the beer pours a somewhat clear dark gold color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like chocolate fudge and some bready/grainy malt. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of a hint of earthy hops. But this beer is all about the chocolate and graininess! Combustion mentions brownie batter in their description of this beer, and I'd agree with that. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a good amount of carbonation. I like this one, not my first time having it but always a good choice when it's available at Combustion.
