Nocino Barrel Aged Imperial Stout is aged 10 months in bourbon barrels that previously held Nocino (spiced Ohio black walnut liqueur) from Watershed Distillery in Columbus, OH. Notes of walnut accented with deep oak, vanilla from the barrel layered with rich, velvety chocolate and coffee malts.

I tried a 10oz pour of this beer off the tapper at the brewing whilst there for my niece's wedding. Poured an opaque dark with thin ecru ring head that did not leave any lace. The scent had roast and boozy notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet dark chocolate malt base with bourbon presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.
