Pours a hazy, crimson red coloration with a large, fluffy, lasting head. Smells of light doughy malt and a distinct raspberry aroma, as well as lighter coconut, Taste is a good balance of light doughy malt, tart raspberry and sweet coconut, with a good, slightly citric, underlying lactic acidity. Finishes with a light/medium tartness and some raspberry and coconut lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Although no great complexity is to be expected from the style, the balance of tart raspberry and sweet coconut works out really well here, with the raspberry being somewhat more dominant, which is absolutely fine by me. Overall this makes for a very refreshing, easy drinking summer beer with a good balance and acidity that shows off the additives nicely, which feel very natural. Somehow, the label notes really speak to me as well. Truly a beer for these trying, uncertain times.
