Pours a deep, dark brown coloration with a small, fluffy head and a lot of chunky floaties. Smells of roasted, slightly caramelly malt and herbal hops, with hints of blueberry as well. Taste is a good balance of roasted, slightly caramelly malt, some chocolate and blueberry, as well as hints of coconut, licorice and herbal hops. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some roasted malt, chocolate and blueberry lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body ands carbonation.
Despite this being brewed with coconut flakes and Sabro hops, there really is very little coconut coming through here at all, which I personally don't really mind, but doesn't really seem to fit the spirit of this beer. The blueberry is more noticeable actually, with a slightly acidic presence, as well as some chocolate, licorice and herbal, bitter hops. Still, this makes for a nice, roasted and fruity Black IPA with a good overall balance, although "Wer Hat Die Blaubeeren Geklaut" may have been a more appropriate name here.
