L- When a beer pours silently, like this one, as in with no splashing noises at all I usually anticipate a treat! Even held to a halogen bulb no light gets through the glass. Pours with a 3mm very deep tan head.
S- Like sticking your head up a chimney above a log fireplace. Much charring but I believe also some cocoa.
T- Mega charring with some mild smoke. There's hints of a caramel/toffee facet here too. I'm unsure if the cocoa is more coffee ot cocoa, perhaps a blend?
F- It has some richness to it. I often don't like an notably rich never mind sweet aspect but I'm glad it has some richness as this beer's taste is BIG and it needs it for balance. This is a big beast, albeit a very highly refined one. An ideal slow-sipping winter beer.
O- I've never considered myself a born stout drinker, or other black beer, but this kind of stout is so stand-out different and impressive I'd happily drink it again. The way they have balanced it's huge pungency with the Feel is very clever brewing indeed.This is certainly the most impressive new (to me!) beers I've had of the last 100/+ beers, perhaps 200. In a bit of a league apart, I suspect my rating should land this in my top-5% of 1644 reviews to date
I can tell this is a pungent beer but despite it having a usually palate-thumping 10.3% the ABV is not over-prominent at all. The lable states that it's brewed with barley and oats.
330ml bottle BB: 01/05/2022. £6.95, ouch but worth it. Bought from BeautifulBeers/BurySt.Edmunds as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Black color with a ring of mocha foam. Aroma has rich roasted malts, fresh roasted coffee and a hint of caramel and brown sugar. Taste follows with deep malt character, quite roasty and bitter with the alcohol hidden really well. Medium body, soft carbonation. Really well made, easy drinking imperial stout.
