Superior to the standard version, enriched by the wood and with a smoother finish and aftertaste. Reaaly good!

L- 'Black-black', no light from a halogen torch held behind the glass gets through at all. 1Cm deep tan head, impressive for a beer of this ABV%!
S- In order of sensing them: Coffee, deep charring. cocoa. No hint of liquor for me yet...
T- Woah!!! First sip of beer today and BOOOM! Massive whisky note some coffee/cocoa and deep smokey charring. I'm surprised I'd no hint of that whisky. It comes with a solid ABV%-zing across my palate. Fortunately there is an element of hoppy-dryness into the finish... I briefly wonder if this beer might be OTT... hmmm.
F- This is big statement beer, and it has one hell of an impact. One of the most pungent beers I've had in months. This is made for slow-sipping and best in colder months I reckon.
O- Not much to add without just repeating the above. Certainly impressive, nothing stands out as 'wrong or out of balance'. Enjoyable to try but it's price and off-of-scale pungency mean I'm not likely to feel justified buying it again. I wouldn't decline an offer to buy me one though, oh no hehe!
330ml bottle BB: 01/05/2022. £7.85, ouch but worth it to try iy. Bought from BeautifulBeers/BurySt.Edmunds as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
