well, they make just about everything else in here so why not one of these dessert ipa types too. this is a little darker than expected, light copper color, i havent really seen that in this style before, crystal malt seems to have no place in this haze craze, but here we have it. this one is done with vanilla and lactose and dry hopped with amarillo and lactose and vics secret, a cool combination, no bitterness at all but very hoppy. i dont think either the lactose or the vanilla are overdone here, which is often the case with these. the hops are mellow, nice with the malt, there is subtlety and balance here, which i have grown to not expect in this style. its still a bit sweeter than i want a lot of, and than richer malts make it a little filling to me, but i think the flavors are good if you like this sort of thing. these guys are really making some great beers, but nobody was around when we were in, i really hope they survive. this was tasty, but maybe better in the colder months than in the warmer ones...
