definitely a dry stout here, true to style for the most part, great depth of flavor in such a low alcohol beer, although i am not sure if this uses irish ale yeast or not, its missing just a little of that stereotypical soft breadiness in the yeast profile, but it sure is fermented down to dry and easy drinking for a dark beer, smooth and mellow from the tap, rich with dark coffee notes, burnt black barley, bitter but balanced, full of flavor and with subtle notes of dark chocolate and tobacco leaf as it moves along and warms up a little bit. nice round medium body, quick almost lagered finish, fine carbonation, and hearty overall, almost feels healthy as i drink it. slightly creamy, taking the edge off the bitter roast of the grain, very nice. it was the wild beers and saison types that impressed me most here, but i was also inspired by how well they made clean styles of all persuasions, and this dry stout is a great brew, professionally executed and really drinkable. all the beer in here was very good!
