Summer 2018 bottle. Hibiscus & ginger.
Pours a ruby-pink with a thin layer of fizz forming the only head for this beer. Aroma is sprigs of hibiscus, cellar stone, ginger, cracked black pepper and lemon zest. It's staccato, hitting its notes softly then quickly disappearing. Flavor profile is refreshing hibiscus that brings on a little sweetness and tartness, with the tartness contrasted exceptionally well with ginger - yin & yang. Cellar stone, lemon zest and wafery malts add a little further depth to the tart storyline. Mouth feel is thin with a light crispness up front that breaks apart rapidly to leave a still-texture on the tongue. Overall, this is really sublime with hibiscus coming out and adding just a light twist of tartness before ginger reverses it enough to establish balance. Playful and yet light.
Served in a 15.5oz Speigelau tulip from a 375mL bottle.

Ok I will admit up front, I don't like a lot of ginger in beers normally. But this was so artfully done, just oozing complexity, I fell in love with it. Ruby maroon pour which almost no bubbles save a few around the edge. On the smell I get ginger, hibiscus, lime, barley, oak, lemon, grass, and white grape. Taste I was blown away. First enter into the realm of deep and cool hibiscus, grape, grapefruit, raspberry, and barley, then take the upswing into the ginger, key lime, lemon, honey, and what I can best describe as soy. Finished this all into a beautiful balance of it all with oak, flowers, grass, and cola. Amazing. So much complexity behind the ginger and hibiscus, let this one warm up! Feel is slightly sour, bright, and clean. Perfect for porch time in the spring or summer
