This beer pours a deep amber to brown, like oversteeped black tea. The aroma has some earthy English hops, woodsy notes, and black tea. The flavor is sweet malt upfront, with notes of bran muffin, and fruit cake, with woodsy, musty hops. The mouthfeel is a bit flabby, with loose carbonation. Overall, it's a bit of a throwback, and bit of a brew pub exmphasis on the rub beer, but I actually quite enjoy it.
