Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 2/10/26.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a light haze to the body and a thick cap of frothy ivory foam atop. It’s not particularly hazy, considering that “hazy” is in the name.
Smell: malt is sweet with a passionfruit and papaya hop profile; there’s not much brightness, though. So, though it’s not bad, the aroma feels a little flat.
Taste: sweet malt, bitter citrus peel, and a sort of miscellaneous fruitiness that sort of reads a little soapy to me. The bitterness is high for the style, as you might guess from the beer’s name. Can’t say that I love it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this feels like a beer that was supposed to come out one way, and it came out another, so they just gave it a new name and called it a day. It’s really not my favorite — and Lake Stevens *can* make decent IPAs!
