Tasted on tap at the brewery in January ‘23. This tap was labeled Batch #7.
Superb clarity and a medium purple color make this resemble an effervescent Italian rose wine. Light pink foam on surface and around the glass. Unusual aromas are fruity but also medicinal, reminding me of cough syrup, yet somehow not in a negative way. Berry flavors dominate, slightly spicy, but the cough syrup impression is not here. A hint of funk. In the finish, but the aftertaste does point to boysenberry jam. Medium body and medium to high carbonation. Light alcohol presence and moderate to high sour bite. A very unusual and enjoyable beer.
