Poured into a Uerige stange. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a one finger white head that dissipated almost nothing with no lacing. Aroma of bready malt, tart lemon, green grapes; acidic. Flavor is wheat malt, lemon rind, grape, mild tart apple and some funk. Tart citrus rind finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess and adequate carbonation despite near still pour. I've had only a few Berliner weisses over time as they start out interesting but end up too acidic and tart for my taste half way through a glass. I think the low ABV helped make this one a bit more drinkable for me while maintaining the traditional tart wheat character.

330ml stubby bottle. Label has a date stamp of '06 SEP. 2024'.
Cloudy pale straw colored body. Brief head. No lacing.
Aroma of lemon, lime, and a berry (unidentified).
Taste is tart, with flavors that follow the nose (lemon, lime, and blackberry). Tart citrus continues into the aftertaste.
Extremely dry due to the tartness. Medium mouth feel. Slight saltiness on the lips. Quiet carbonation.
A true summer patio beer. Creates its own thirst and then satisfies.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub, Stavanger. ABV is 3.5%. Hazy pale yellow colour, some floaties. Moderate white head. Sickly aroma of lactic acid and yeast. Thin body. Extremely sour flavour, loads of lactic acid, nothing else. Not a beer for me - undrinkable.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with soapy, quickly falling head.
Smell is tart and crisp with notes of lemon, wheat dough, lime and some gooseberries.
Taste is tart and crisp with nice acidity. Notes of lemon, lime, wheat dough, peach and green apple skin. Slightly salty with a soft bitterness. Very refeshing.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium with effervescent carbonation.
Overall, a very nice, tradtional Berliner Weisse, very refreshing with surprising depth of flavor for the ABV.

Schneeeule Berlin “Marlene”
,33L brown glass bottle coded “Mindestens haltbar bis 06 JULI 2022. Sampled on 03.10.2021.
Notes via stream of consciousness: I believe that “Marlene” (labeled as 3.5% ABV) is the first from Schneeeule so here goes… it’s poured a hazy, very light golden body beneath a head of bright white that quickly fades away. The aroma is clean for a Berlinerweisse with just the usual mineralish aroma, some fruitiness, and a touch of sweetish malt. The flavor is as expected with a nice bit of tanginess, but not a puckering sourness. The fruitiness is apple-like, and the malt is, indeed, lightly sweetish. There are some mild notes of wet straw and leather. I’m not finding any bitterness but it doesn’t need any to finish dry as the acidity handles that. It’s light bodied and effervescent with a tiny-bubbled carbonation. It’s really quite refreshing and enjoyable. I really see no need to add anything to it but that’s up next in “Walter”, which includes Waldmeister.

Pours a slightly cloudy, deep golden coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light doughy malt with quite vibrant funky and estery notes of blue cheese, green apple and gooseberry, with a light citric acidity. Taste is a perfect balance of doughy malt, medium citric acidity, light musty/blue cheese funk, hay and estery notes of green apple and lighter white grape and gooseberry, with just a hint of clove as well. Finishes with a light citric acidity and some fruity esters lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light/medium body and medium carbonation.
An exceptional, traditional Berliner Weiße with a perfect balance of malts, esters, acidity and funk. Complex, yet easy-drinking, a tremendous achievement for 3% ABV, probably the best non-barrel-aged Berliner Weiße I've ever had. Considerable age/batch variation to this though. Having a bottle now that is still great, but doesn't impress me quite as much as the last one I had. Or maybe my palate is just still wrecked from that super-sour Vigneronne I just had before.

Pours a clouded citraic-yellow color with a noisy, huge white head.
Smells of bread dough, dried lemon zest, a note of sea salt and light, flowery orange. Has a soft, cream cheese funk to it, adding a nice depth to the nose.
Has a light, yet very refreshing mouthfeel to it, light bodied with a sparkly effervescence.
Tastes of minerals, white bread dough, salted crackers, wheat and dry lemon peel. Turns fruitier then, with more lemon cutting through the lively carbonation, leading to an even softer, very light finish. Lemons stay till the aftertaste, refreshing with just a subtle note of dried mushrooms and cream cheee.
Very nice berliner, incredibly refreshing, super light bodied but nowhere close to appear boring. Its sparkly carbonation goes very well with all the beers flavors, making this fun throughout.

Poured from just above fridge temp and allowed to warm a bit. Pours a beautiful yellow. Fairly opaque with quickly dissipating head. Aromas is outstanding. Lots of lemon citrus, vanilla, sour grapes, wheat, and a milky note. Taste is not as robust and complex as the nose, but still quite good. Muted sour notes, citrus peel (mostly lemon, but some orange), creamsicle, a bit of leather, some spice, wheat, and some hay. Mouthfeel is fairly dry, with a lingering sweetness. Overall, a nice representation of the style.

Good effort.
