look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5
Pitch black, massive velvety beige head
Aroma more fruity and caramel than roasty
A bit ashy and acrid, otherwise coffe
Apropriate body, nice underlying fine carbonation, warm
Has everything a big stout needs if there wouldn't be this ashy aftertaste it would rated much higher

I usually like to have beer from Brouwerij t'IJ as a session beer. They usually brew average + beer that are extremely drinkable. Therefore, I did not know what to expect from this IS.
The label is attractive, supposedly this beer is a collaboration with the Michelin star awarded restaurant Ciel Bleu in Amsterdam.

Looks is pretty black
Smell is mainly bay tree (which actually is galanga) and a bit of coffee/ chocolate
Taste: It feels like chewing bay tree, it does not taste like a stout anymore. The beer is definitely not a big round and silky IS.

I was pretty disappointed by this beer, I hesitated several time to drainpour it. If you like bay tree, go for it otherwise it is not worth it.

33cl bottle. Pitch black pour, thick and oily, with a tall, fine, beige head with good retention. Smells of roasted grains, almonds, lactose, dark chocolate and mint. Very bitter taste, herbal hops, smoke, mint, dark chocolate and roasted grains. Bitter and minty aftertaste.
