The very first beer that we brewed in our new brewery on Zeeburgerpad. No. 1 is a light blonde beer with a refreshing bitterness derived from the Waimea hop variety. We tapped it at the opening of our new brewery and it found an enthusiastic response. This festive beer holds out a great deal of promise for our future brewing on Zeeburgerpad.

This is from the first batch that was brewed at newly opened second 't IJ brewery located at the Zeeburgerpad 55 in Amsterdam. It was reported to be a big success at the grand opening and so we might see it again. It is advertized as a light blonde with refreshing bitterness. Let's pour this into a La Chouffe Tulip and get this review started.
Murky orange body and a few fingers of white fine foam that reduces to a half finger after first sip but then stays for a while until it reduces to a thin layer. lacing is there. lots of fine carbonation and sediment visible
Smell is yeast, coriander and citric hops
fruity, citric, smooth but persistent bitter aftertaste, spices
smooth, almost velvety body due to the fine carbonation. body is of medium strength and feels a little oily.
This is really a good one. It reminds me a lot of a La Chouffe. The looks are almost spot on but also the taste and mouthfeel go that way. What makes it a beer of its own is the hoppy character and the fact that it is only 5.8%. It performs like a Belgian Strong Pale Ale while it is just a Pale Ale. Refreshing too. Congrats!
