With the summer months ahead it’s high time for a new limited edition beer. As an answer to the scorching heat we will hopefully get, we made the Zomerblond (Summer Blonde). The solid bitterness with fruity flavors of the Waimea, Cascade and Chinook hops make this a lushly refreshing beer, which due to only 4.8% alcohol is very drinkable in the sun. Great beer for on a terrace, balcony or in the park. And of course indispensable at any barbecue.

On tap at t'IJ brewery, Amsterdam.

Hazy dirty wheat with crusty white froth.
Waxy lemon skin with some flowers on the nose.
Sour grain, lemon cough drop plus a big yeasty hit.
Grapefruit peel finish and drying bitter linger.
More chew than expected, lt-med, round.

Lots of hops, lots of yeast. Because the malts are lighter than other t'IJ beers, this actually comes across as among their most bitter. Hopping is Waimea, Cascade and Chinook; not sure I'd have guessed a NZ, all its potential nuance is lost under big IBUs. And the yeast hit is heavy enough that this works more like a wit than an English blonde (as a scale).

Nevertheless, does what it says on the tin.
