On tap at Near Wall Bar in Xi'an. Served in a tall mug glass, 16oz. Pours a darker orange-copper body, one finger thick white head, fair retention, no lacing. Smell is grapefruit and caramel for days; balanced in seeming perpetuity with a bit of zest, toffee and earth. No cat piss anywhere to be smelled. Flavour follows, no off-flavours, clean grapefruit balanced with a nice caramel sweetness; in some ways like a sweeter Three Floyds' Zombie Dust, with a slightly heavier mouthfeel that is still very drinkable. Wonderful drinker on the patio at Near Wall Bar, really works well as the brewery's flagship beer. I felt this beer was better than many citra IPAs brewed here in America, and that could perhaps be due to the sheer freshness of it on draft at a Xi'an Brewery associated venue.
