Milk Stout
Xi'an Brewery

On tap at Near Wall Bar in Xi'an. Snifter glass. Pours a dark black body, cola colour with an offwhite head, fair retention, no lacing. Smell is rich milk chocolate, lactose, light roast, a bit of earthiness. Flavour is a bit blander, but reasonably tasty with a fair lactose sweetness, milk chocolate, touch of roast. Not as complex or interesting as the Coffee Stout from the same brewery, but it works. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, nice lactose smoothness complements the chocolate roast. Standard, reasonably tasty milk stout that's better than a fair amount out there, but doesn't blow you away.
