I do love me a good Helles, no can date
Pours a large foamy frothy pillowy 2 finger head with moderate retention, soapy lacing, mostly clear slight chill hazed straw golden pilsner color
Nose mostly grainy sweet doughy pilsner malts, German pilsner malt, fair amount of DMS corn from the pilsner malts, touch of cereal grain, mild floral herbal hops
Taste brings grainy malts but a little biscuity bread like, grainy-sweet, stale cereal, maybe the malts are a bit too old for a beer this subtle, hops kick into overdrive with med-higher bitterness, herbal spicy hops getting a touch piney and resiny like, touch of corn DMS, lingering high bitterness and spicy hops
Mouth is med bod, soft lager, medium-high carb
Overall started nice, good solid nose, but the taste dropped a bit, malts seemed a bit old maybe, or were milled way before they were used, hops don't seem to fit the style well for flavor and bitterness was too high. Otherwise, clean lager, decent beer.
