Sampling a cold 32 oz growler bought at the brewery about 3 weeks ago. It has been sealed and in my fridge since my visit.
Open the cap and the growler is filled right to the top, so that is good start. The beer pours a jet black color with no light passing through my glass. A cm creamy beige head foams up on the pour and fades to a thin edge layer slowly after the pour. One wispy island also rests on the surface of my beer. Some scattered lattice is on the sides of my glass as well.
The aroma is dark chocolate and a good roasted malt piece. I get a little coffee ground but also some grassy hop character in the background for balancing. Doesnt smell very boozy though so the ABV is hidden at this point.
First sip reveals a medium body with very fine carbonation that tingles my palate on each sip. Texture is smooth but also kind of sticky.
Flavor is dark chocolate and a lot of roasted malt and some coffee as well. Pretty big roast malt profile that lingers after each sip. I still get a little grassy or earthy hops buried in background but the ABV is also well hidden here.
This is a very drinkable and well made imperial stout. Also nice to have one that isnt loaded with adjuncts and tastes like candy. Glad to have finally visited this brewery and tried a beer from them!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
