I'm actually not entirely what type of beer this is supposed to be; the brewer doesn't say. The bartender's guess was that it's an amber ale, which seems reasonable enough.
It's a summery yellow/straw color, with a modest but creamy head which degrades into a robust lacing.
The smell is not strong, but gave a nice impression of freshness.
The taste is not over the top either, but it has a robust and tasty hop bitterness, and maybe a slight flavor of bananas -- not obviously fruity or sweet, but somehow leaving that impression anyway; it's nice and subtle. The overall impression is crisp and refreshing, and very very fresh. The mouthfeel is slightly creamy, enough to be appealing, but not so much as to interfere with the crispness.
This would be a great summer beer.
