Had this on tap at Popeye's in Ryogoku, Tokyo. Poured into a snifter. Hazy brown-ruby red hue with very little bubbles. Amazing spice in the smell and strong ethanol presence in the taste. Hops come through with perhaps a bit of cherry. Heat and spice in the aftertaste. Overall, very nice barleywine from Swan Lake, a constant producer of quality craft brews. Does not disappoint!
