Pours a pitch-black coloration with a medium, fluffy, mocha-colored head. Smells of roasted, slightly caramelly malt and chocolate, as well as hints of licorice and chile peppers. Taste is a great balance of roasted, slightly caramelly malt, chocolate, licorice and tobacco, as well as hints of dark fruit, with accents of fig and date, and some chile peppers lingering on the tongue after each sip. Finishes with a light bitterness and medium/strong chile heat, with some chocolate, licorice and chile peppers lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium/rich body and medium carbonation.

This makes for a very pleasant Chile Stout with a great balance of roasted, bitter, sweet and hot notes, with the chile peppers pleasantly lingering on the tongue after each sip without feeling overpowering, being complemented very nicely by the roasted malts and notes of tobacco and licorice, while the chocolate and dark fruits offer some sweetness for balance.
