Copenhagen 30/7 2025. 33 cl bottle from DrikBeer web-shop. Some Cambodian ruins on the label.
Pours opaque dark brown with a big light beige head. Stable. Settles as a thin but unbroken layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a boozy and wooden scent. Dark roasted malts, caramel and toffee. Black pepper and whisky.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, soft, viscous and almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is boozy and with a little sear.
Fine spicy booze bomb.

33 cl bottle, poured lightly chilled into a Teku glass, in Toulouse, France.
Excellent brown foam floats on deep brown brew.
Nose brings Kampot black pepper right up front, married with exotic spiciness, barrel, burnt caramel.
Taste is intense, with a sweet, resinous, eucalyptus and fresh mint swirl that is different and delightful. The pepper heat hits and leaves, tempered by the bourbon barrel aging and 12% abv.
Medium body, medium carbonation.
Overall, a master class in harmonious flavors.
