Poured from the can into a tulip glass.
A deep dark pale amber body, to ruby hinting color, with and off white to pinkish tinged head. The head reaches a big billowing and large four fingers with ease, clumpy retention, and hanging on for some time.
Aroma is quite nice. Large amounts of funk and some acidic heat, with sour cherry flavor on the nose and even a touch of classic sucrose sweetness. Faint touches of honey and florals seem to kick in the mix, and does run a little hot but nicely. Very impressive.
Palate seems to take a fairly neutral stance. Minimal tartness with a soft cherry flavor in the mid palate. Light touches of sweetness, but also a bit of dry grain and misses some of the strength. Finishes really fruity but also with not as much expected density of malt.
A neat tasting beer that's not quite a tripel, and not quite sour brew, but with good qualities of both making a very well tasty drink to be had.
