A wonderful roast flavour shines above all else in this imperial stout that offers everything in perfect proportion. Relatively low booziness, despite it’s 12% abv. Just a rich, chalky, nutty, chocolaty malt character and a clean, dry finish.

33 cL bottle, poured into a taster’s snifter, 55°F. Toulouse, France. Bottle shows oil wells pumping crude into snifters. The art is right out of a Russian propaganda poster.
There’s a threat of mushroom cloud foam, bit it’s just a tease. Deep brown ring topping flat matte black dew.
Nose is dark cacao, coffee, little molasses, tibbit of anise.
Taste is the expansive expressive explosion. Big loud mouthful of dry sweetness, sticky lips medicine, delightful hop center of the tongue, chewy chewy, incredible long finish.
Full and dense mouth, a tickle of carbonation persists as the brew warms.
Overall, what a great RIS! You see this one, you get it!

Very nice, dark brown almost black in colour. Tan head. Smells of chocolate, coffee. Our ris, full on chocolate and coffee to me. Slight sweetness, nice body to it. Definitely couldn't taste all of that the first time, but man this one is fantastic. The first Imperial Stout I truly liked, and one I still like now.

Incredibly roasty, powerful and dense, this russian imperial stout has everything I like in the style.
Gourmet and thick, this is a real treat. Complex and heavy, glass is already empty
