16oz can dated 10 /10/18.
Pours cloudy gold with a fluffy head of white. Nice retention and lacing also. Pithy citrus in the nose. Peach fuzz, grapefruit, and tangerine. Medium bodied with a creamy, lightly chalky mouthfeel. Unripe citrus on the palate with zero malt and a drying bitterness. Grapefruit and hard peaches. Finishes with plenty of pithy citrus and quite dry.

Hazy, apricot color with a creamy finger head. Tropical fruit and chardonnay aromas. Sweet papaya, melon, pineapple, and lychee fruit flavors. Hops will develop during the finish which balances out the sweet fruit. Also a little spice on the tongue and throat. Finishes with a creamy texture feel. Very nice beer!

Hazy golden hue with a nice 2finger head and soapy lacing that clings for the entire beer.
Looks like pineapple juice.
Smells of papaya, grapefruit, guava, tropical fruit and citrus.
Taste follows nose with a nice hop bit to it. Very smooth and juicy.
This just may be my favorite I’ve had. I know I say this a lot but this beer is truly amazing.

Picked up at the brewery and liked it so much I grabbed more at Oak Hill Beverage in Scarborough. IMHO, their best beer to date. Flume is good but this is better. Excellent NEIPA. I hope it becomes a regular.

Pours an opaque darker orange gold color with a 2 finger biscuit head. Thick lacing covers the glass on its way down while there is pretty good retention. Well done.
The nose is rich with orange and pineapple and peach notes. What a great balance between them!
The flavor is on the sweeter side with great orange and pineapple notes with a touch of candied orange rind. There is a tartness that pervades the mid-taste into the finish that almost feels like a bit of alcohol burn. I'm not crazy about it but it does cut the sweetness, which is a good thing.
Feel is very soft and thick on the tongue. low to moderate bitterness and low carbonation.
This is a fantastic beer. I missed it the first time around and am psyched they brought it back, though easy to understand why if popular vote is involved. Worth picking up if you can find it. Probably the best they've put out, though I am not as into the tart finish so its a small knock there for me.

Poured ice cold into a 16 oz Snulip cannedon 8/31/18. Pours like a glass of orange pineapple juice with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves a wall of lace behind with excellent retention. 4.75
Smell is papaya, guava, pineapple, and grapefruit rind. 4.75
Taste follows tropical front to back guava, papaya, pineapple, and a healthy dose of grapefruit in the balanced yet slightly bitter finish. 4.75
Mouthfeel is a solid big medium, soft mouthfeel, not dry but a tad sticky from the huge Hop presence, and at 8.3 so easy drinking. 5
Overall this is absolutely awesome, would put up against any of the big boys. A treat. 4.75

When it comes to IPA, the best ones seem to celebrate three different hop varieties. Less and the beer lacks complexity. More and the taste becomes a non-descript hoppiness that's muddled. And that's where the experimental nature of Battery Steele Brewing takes this beer.
Pouring a burnt orange color and laced with a standard hoppy haze, Onsight #5 crowns with a rich lather of ivory foam. With the help of Simcoe, Mosaic and Topaz hop varieties, the aromas are citrus, tropical and herbal with a tendency to strive for dankness. Caramelized, nutty and lightly toasted, the beer's early malt influence is moderately sweet, modestly savory and offers a balance ahead of the hop brunt to come.
But then the hops burst to life on the middle palate and quickly overtake the fleeting malt with a ripe and radiant taste of pink grapefruit, tangy under ripened orange, passionfruit, pineapple and a hint of lemon for a mild sherbet-like impression. Malt influence is quickly rendered to a supporting role while the hops trend bitter, peppery, resinous and with the prevailing taste of citrus peel, fresh grass clippings, chive, geranium, green tea and yes- hemp.
Berry-like fruits carry a tangy blackcurrant taste across a medium bodied texture that trend dry, spicy and firmly tight with a bitter grip to the gullet. A long linger of fruit rind and grassiness extends deep in taste and allowing the finish to come with a high sense of refreshment, drinkability and satisfaction.
