A different approach for Battery Steele. Not sure of the hop profile, but I think it has Citra, mosaic, maybe some Galaxy and other hops.

Cloudy golden color with a 4F head in in a Spielgelau IPA glass.

Aroma: pine , citrus
Taste: pine, citrus, some tropical fruit, and earthy.
The finish is much more bitter than other beers I’ve tasted from the brewery. There is a sharper edged bitterness, which is les fashionable these days.

Excellent TDIPA. I could have done without the bitterness., otherwise worth checking out.

16oz can dated 2/15/19.

Pours cloudy gold with moderate retention and lacing. Pungently hoppy in the nose with candied peach, garlic, and dank weed. Medium bodied with a creamy but chalky mouthfeel. A carpet-bombing of unripe citrus on the palate. Grapefruit and peach pith with zero malt and a big bitterness. Finishes dry with a long-sustaining hop attack.

Poured into a 13 oz Tired Hands Teku glass canned on 2/26/19. Pours a very hazy and attractive yellow with a 2 plus finger sticky white head that leaves a thin wall of lace as it slowly settles. 4.75

Smell is tangerine, papaya, pineapple, passion fruit, and some ripe grapefruit. 4.75

Taste follows tangerine, pineapple, papaya, and some grapefruit exceptionally balanced and bold for 7.5%. 4.75

Mouthfeel is big, lip smackingly sticky, soft on the palate, and at 7.5% easy drinking but drinks larger in feel and flavor. 5

Overall I learned today that triple dry hopped is better than double! I had two amazingly tasty triple hopped NEIPAs today and both blew my mind. Awesome stuff! 4.75

L - dark orange haze with a bone white head that sticks to the glass like a baby to its mother.

S - hugely grassy with caramelized onions and buttery dankness. Freshly-mixed paint and some crackery sourdough. Odd. Some spices in there too, maybe dill or coriander? Grape must. Definitely odd.

T - guava bomb. Getting the OG flavors of lemon-lime and lemony vanilla, but amped up with almost tart hoppiness. Slick hop oils melt on my tongue as ripe, sticky, resnous fruits ooze out. Again, more of that painty type flavor, which is strange to say the least. Not off-putting, but unusual for sure. Graham crackers and buttered popcorn round out the backbone. Bitter and freshly herbal on the finish. Dry and crisp. Strange balance.

F - mouthfeel kicks the original Avalon in the teeth. Full and viscous, packed full of flavor. An absolute joy to swish between the teeth.

O - Avalon is my favorite beer to sip on while high. Not sure what they do with the flavors, but they meld beautifully with the dank. TDH Avalon kicks it up several notches (approximately three) so I'm pumped to try this with my hop brethren. Dry hopping tends to give beers an extra grassy kick, and this is no exception, but the kick is weirdly oxidized to emphasize the more stringent tanginess of these hop flavors.

A- Chalky and super hazy pale yellow pour from the can into a 20ml tasting chalice. The head is a cm high with a thick and foamy consistency and good retention. Lacing is a mix of spots and sheets.

S- Juicy tropical hops really dominate the aroma and I guess that should come as no surprise based on the brew description. Mango and juicy sweet pineapple are poppin' with bubble gum, melon, dank herbal, flintstone fruity vitamin, tangerine, guava and slight grapefruit.

T- Things shift a bit here as the chalky and acridly bitter hop powder flavor comes into play that wasn't present in the more pleasant aroma. Mango, guava, papaya, melon, dank weed, floral, orange, flintstone vitamin powdery fruit, tangerine and mandarin hops with a powdery hop punch gripping the tastebuds throughout.

MF- Fluffy and creamy medium-light body with a high level of bubbles. Silky smooth and it ends with a harsh hop extract bitterness.

The aroma is super juicy and smooth with a ton of tropical and stone fruit notes The flavor suffers from just too much hopping as things become acrid and powdery.

10 oz. in a stemless glass at the brewery.

Appearance: Foggy, light orange with a film of white bubbles. Dense. Carbonation seems typical.

Aroma: Juicy, hoppy. Lemon, grapefruit, mango. Big pineapple note. Fairly tropical.

Taste: Follows nose. A juicy, fruity IPA with booze deep in the background. Pineapple leads the way.

Mouthfeel: Dangerously drinkable. It’s prickly and not intended for sessioning, but it’s easy on the palate for a big, hoppy IPA.

Overall: Excellent IPA. I haven’t had its “parent” beer, but it’s excellent in its own right.

Pours a hazy medium orange gold color with a fizzy but substantial two finger off white head.

The aroma hits you at arms length (as expected with the TDH) with very sweet pineapple and mango notes along with a touch of candied citrus rind.

The taste immediately establishes itself as sweet and mellow, so very low bitterness, continuing the sweet tropical fruit theme very nicely. This is NOT overly sweet in a sticky way, more in a floral sense. Pale malts are way out of the way. It finishes the same way it starts, so very consistent and un-evolving in flavor.

Its feel is very soft and smooth in a lactose kind of way (not sure what process they use). No detectable alcohol burn, at least while it is still cold. There is a little seltzer feel in the mid-taste.

This is really a pleasant beer that keeps the sweet notes reasonably in check, It would make a great summer beer.
