This new IPA draws its most defining characteristic from the addition of a massive amount of oats to this IPAs grain bill. To push it even further we added a liberal dose of oat cream and a touch of milk sugar. The result is a pillowy soft, ultra creamy mouthfeel that carries with it the intense flavors from generous additions of Citra, Galaxy and Motueka. Expect bold notes of passion fruit, lime, peach and apricot that lends way to a clean dank citrus finish which begs you to crack open another can.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local beer store located just around the corner. It poured a smoothie hazy golden with thin white ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had bright tropical citrus peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with orange and tangerine base mixed with subtle pineapple, papaya and other tropical fruit medley. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Poured from a single 16oz can. Definitely has the yeasty, NEIPA look. Smell is stone fruit and citrus. Taste follows. Good but so many others taste similar/the same. Mouthfeel is on point. Glad I tried but for $6 a can I can find better.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for sending this can.

A - Opaque dark golden tan color with dense, soapy white lacing.

S - Peach and apricot with some citrus brings the main event to your senses along with dank, peppery citrus rind.

T - Peach, apricot, citrus, and tropical fruit finishing with a lingering spicy, peppery fruit rind that permeates the pallet and the lining of the mouth. Finishes on the sweeter side - initially. As the hops rest on the pallet after the sip there's some citrus bitter sting that starts to hit and eliminates any residual sweetness leftover.

M - Big, pillowy soft, and a chewy body for this IPA. The lingering finish is quite dry.

O - What's unique about this NE IPA is the extreme swing from sweetness to bitterness - pretty cool. Recommended.

Poured into 16 oz Snulip glass canned on 2/1/2021. Pours a hazy orange with a finger sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace, with excellent retention. 4.5

Aroma is tangerine, vanilla, pineapple, papaya, hints of cantaloupe, apricot, and some white grapefruit rind. 4.5

Taste follows tangerine, papaya, cantaloupe, vanilla, peach, apricot, and a little grapefruit bitterness in the finish really well balanced.4.5

Mouthfeel is above medium, soft creamy carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 7.6% it drinks really easy, but maybe a tad bigger in body and flavor. 4.75

Overall this is another really impressive beer from this brewery. I really dig it. 4.5

A- Milkyshaky floury haze bomb pour from the tall can into a tulip. The beer has a luscious, creamy white cap and the head rises to and retains at a finger high very nicely. Lacing is very plentiful with large sheets and webs decorating the glass.

S- Hop profile ranging from stone fruits and citrus to herbal and floral notes. Lime, apricot, peach, melon, grass, berries, onion and dankness. A bit note of pineapple juice to round it out.

T- For my palate the pineapple is once again just massive, and having pineapple last night helps pin point that. Strawberry, floral, dank, herbal, green onion, apricot, lime, grapefruit and orange come to mind as well as oats and base barley.

MF- Soft and silky medium-heavy body. The oats and lactose definitely give it some heft and some smoothess and the beer has a medium-high carbonation level.

Ends up being somewhere between stone fruits, citrus and berries beyond a large dose of pineapple juice. The body is super smooth and bold and another good hoppy brew from Battery Steele.
