Poured from 750 mL bottle into snifter.
A: Pours a dark brown hue with 1 inch frothy tan head that quickly recedes to a thin skim with some lacing.
S: Potent aroma of sweet bourbon, smooth dark chocolate, vanilla, almond, and a hint of dark coffee with cream.
T: Dark chocolate, cream, sweet bourbon, vanilla, dark roasted malt, almond, and a hint of dark roast coffee.
M: Medium heavy body…drinking lighter than ABV would suggest. Layers of dark sweetness with a restrained boozy kick. Smooth and coating feel. Lingers nicely on the palate.
D: A solid representation of style. Really enjoyed the strong bourbon note which plays a more dominant role here than in many bourbon barrel aged beers. Definitely worth a go!
