16 ounce prowler into tulip glass, filled on 3/10/2019. Pours crystal clear deep golden amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, candi sugar, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, candi sugar, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, candi sugar, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, woody, floral, grassy bitterness; and pepper/clove yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, peppercorn, clove, banana, bubblegum, honey, candi sugar, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, candi sugar, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, fairly crisp, and slightly slick/resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 10%. Overall this is an excellent tripel. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, candi sugar, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV; with the fairly bitter/spicy/crisp/drying finish. Very well attenuated and not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. Awesomely well rounded Belgian yeast complexity; with clean/balanced pils malts, candi sugar, and noble hops against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
