16 ounce prowler into pint glass, filled on 3/10/2019. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of lemon, peach, pear, red apple, melon, banana, bubblegum, clove, peppercorn, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of pale/wheat malts, light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of lemon, peach, pear, red apple, melon, banana, bubblegum, clove, peppercorn, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; yeast spiciness; and wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, lemon, peach, pear, red apple, melon, banana, bubblegum, clove, peppercorn, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of pale/wheat malts, light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast, and light earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, fairly crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very nice American pale wheat ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pale/wheat malts, light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Very clean and nicely rich pale/wheat malt showcase; with restrained American Wheat yeast character, and balancing earthy hops against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example.
