Orange, pleasant light ginger smell. Tried at tasting at Shop Bottles in Cola (great place) after having picked up sushi variety with salad with ginger dressing at nearby Sakura (nicely resurrected on Rosewood Dr. after Hurricane Matthew destroyed Forest Dr. location).
Poured into complimentary glass for growler purchase ($13) at home. First sampled before having sliced ginger or sushi with curry mayo I made. Consistently great going down as sample.
Next had piece of sushi. Again, very nice. Mild malt, no overwhelming ginger flavor like several ginger beers I've tried.
Let beer warm about 10 minutes. Then had full gulp from same pour after bite of green salad with ginger dressing. Flavors melded quite well. I'm ready for more of everything!
Met the 2 founders at the tasting to learn brewery name has family ties, suggesting deep roots and this effort is heart-felt. Keep it up guys!!

L: Had this beer on-tap at Gene's Haufbrau, poured into a pint glass. Had a brownish color and a cloudy consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, off white head that quickly dissipated. Good lacing.
S: A decent, but not great, aroma of malt, cream, ginger, and citrus fruit.
T: Tasted of a moderate amount of cream (present throughout), a good shot of malt (omnipresent as well), a good shot of ginger, and some light citrus notes (lemon). An interesting idea, but not the greatest execution. The ginger is a bit overpowering, especially when paired with mild flavors like cream. The addition of citrus works well, though.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An uneven beer, to say the least. Worth a look for the sake of curiosity.
