Had on-tap at Fort Rock Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a 16oz sniffer, hazy and dull orange in color with a thin, fairly consistent layer of suds across the surface. Nice lacing, with thin sheeting found along a lot of the glass, devolving to broken lines and small spotting around the edges.
Smell - Soft but prominent grapefruit aroma. Guava less so, but it's there. Hints of green leaf and light yeast.
Taste - Follows the nose. Mild flavor, but the additions of grapefruit and guava aid greatly in bringing a discernible flavor. A bit of green leaf mid-taste, mineral, faint orange, and a touch of earthen bitterness creeps in at the end.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with soft, round carbonation. Almost silky texture. Smooth and easy throughout.
Overall - Reminds me of those early, east coast NE-style hazies, that soft mineral character, but that splash of grapefruit and guava really does add another layer to that base flavor. Me likey.
