Canned 03/03/21
Appearance - Pours clear and golden orange in color with an off-white, near finger width head. Displays fair retention before dying to a thin, broken layer of suds across the surface, thickening into a ring around the edge of the glass.
Smell - Citrus, lesser earthen dank, stonefruit, and some hints of bready grains.
Taste - Follows the nose. Citrusy upfront and throughout, with light, earthen dank riding beneath. Hints of peach and pineapple pop through. Notes of grain and bread make up the malt backbone, before a bit of caramel sweetness peeks in, especially as it warms. Finish is fairly balanced, with orange, lesser dank, grain and caramel (once warmed) fading in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Slick, smooth drinker before a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Pretty solid West Coast DIPA. Maybe a bit more grain flavor with the malt base than I would love for a West Coast IPA, but I would certainly not hesitate to drink this again, though I would likely let it warm up a bit first.
