Dark red in color with a good off white head, served in a 22oz mug at a local eatery. nice malt aroma, a blend of roast and caramel, and a very slight hop aroma. Flavor is clean, not overly sweet toasty malt flavor with mild bitterness and a crisp finish. Mouthfeel is somewhat light but nicely refreshing and not dry at all. Overall this is a good beer, well made and ideal to accompany a big greasy burger.

Did a bit of wandering around Comerica Park in Detroit, seeing what bier was being offered there. Most taps had Bud Light, Labatts Blue, and similar suds, so I wasn't feeling too good. Made my way into the Union Beer Hall at the Park, and found that they had Bass, Sam Adams, and this other, odd-looking tap handle. Saw that it was a local product, so I said "WTF"? Cost me $6.00 for about 14, maybe 16oz..., and in plastic at that. NBD...
The Tomboy had an attractive, clear, medium-copper color. Head was frothy and off-white, and stuck well in the plastic! The aroma was light and bready, with some malty sweetness. A tad too mild, though. Found the body on this Tomboy was not too tomboyish at all; rather good actually. Fairly smooth, as well, on the tongue. Taste consisted of some toasty, bready malt, with a mild semi-sweetness. Very light on the hops, with an easy, smooth finish. A pretty good drinking bier for perhaps a couple of rounds. Prosit!!

Being a Local beer that i had never tried, i checked out the brew at it's point of origin, Local Color Brewery in Novi. It's got a more orange/red color, a short lived white, dense and foamy head, and a really good overall flavor. A mixture of flavors that range from smooth and creamy to almost sweet towards the end, this is worth a try if you can get to a place that has this brew on tap.

This brewery is not too far from my house and I was somewhat pumped up to try this one. It pours nice, with a decent head, light amber in color and the first initial taste is good. But...the finish is lacking. I was expecting a slight sweet taste from the malt in the finish and was greeted with a funky aftertaste that I can't quite describe. Very, very average, could and should be better.
