From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This porter pours a dark blackish brown
with cola highlights and a nice head of light tan foam that settles to a thick ring,
thin layer, and showcases some nice light lacing. Nose of chocolate, coffee, dark
roasted malts, and a slight nutty aroma. Flavors follow the nose with a roasted nut and
medium dark coffee note that is touched with medium dark cocoa notes and a subtle herbal
hop on the back. Medium high carbonation, medium light body, and a lightly dry roasted finish.
Overall, a decent ale but pretty far outside of the Baltic moniker. Session-able for certain,
but a touch high on the carbonation and effervescent mouth feel. For a dark brew from a new
brewery it is a solid presentation, but could use some tweaking.
of note they are less than a 1/4 of a mile from where I work which is comical
Cheers
