From the growler via the brewery (which is very nice by the way)
in a snifter. This solid little brew pours a dark brown with thin tea
highlights and decent head of tan foam that subsides to a thick ring,
thin dusty layer, and sports some nice light lacing. Nose of rich bourbon,
vanilla, oak, and touches of chocolate and faint char. Flavors follow the
nose with light exception; dark cocoa and faint coffee meld with a nice
bourbon note. Vanilla and oak show nicely on the rear with light char
and roasted malts. Nice mouth feel; medium full body, medium light
carbonation that is lively and refreshing for the heft of the brew, and
a warming subtly dry finish.
Overall----can't believe I worked a stones throw away and did not stop
in for a growler sooner.
SOLID!
Cheers
