Pours an entirely hazed yellow with a fine pored, eggshell colored, medium head.
Smell is of fruit forward mango, pineapple and lighter passion fruit with some lusciously ripe kiwi. Packs notes of vanilla and herbal grass atop of this fruit sorbet impression, paired with a faint whiff of caramel malts.
Drinks medium bodied, with a rubbery, slick mouthfeel, present hop burn in the finish among a tamed, subtle, yet refreshing carbonation.
Tastes of caramel malts from the beginning, which get immediately washed away by abrasive, scratchy hops and an accompanying hop bitterness. Hops turn hot and unpleasant then, burning down the throat, numbing anything else, which may be going on in this. Finishes with unpleasantly hot, scratchy hops and nothing else.
This is bad. It is quite hard to finish, since the burn in this is impossible to ignore. Quite unfortunate, since I held L‘Ermitage in high regards so far.
