This is our take on a traditional German Pilsner. A full malt bill; bready and soft caramel notes which has been generously hopped with a blend of Hallertauer Mittlefruh and Saaz hops and fermented with a classic Bavarian yeast. Clean, crisp and classic.

Brilliant clarity, firmly yellow but within style, excellent head with staying power. Aroma is balanced to Pilsener malt graininess with notable spicy Saaz but not quite perfectly balanced for style. Flavor is same as aroma but more so, with some Vienna or Munich breadiness more noted than it should be (or really at all). Needs more bittering support. Note that the sample was transported to the US which could explain the bitterness being lower than expected but not the moderately strong bready notes. Mouthfeel has similar issue, where the lack of bitter support causes the finish to lack the typical Pils crispness. Overall enjoyable and explainable on the balance issues due to transport, but not completely. I would have scored this higher as a Munich Helles or Helles Export just due to balance and breadiness.

Can. Straw colour with a thick frothy head which dissipates quickly.
Light citrus and grain smell.
A distant malt flavour just about balances a taste reflecting it's aroma.
Decent enough carbonation.
Nothing to write home about.

330ml Can from Beer52:
An enjoyable first beer from The Garden, it was a fresh & somewhat lively pilsner that kicked off with some nice citrus flavours but could have been a little more pronounced at times. It was drinkable & quite clean but also a little basic with some bread & biscuit malts rounding things off. It's a nice beer & one I'd have definitely enjoyed in the heat of Zagreb when I was last there but I'm not sure it's one I'd hurry back to here in the UK.
