Served in a clear pint glass, from a tap, here in the delightful Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. There's a proper just-off-white head, tightly knit, on top of a brass-amber liquid that's bright, well-carbonated and far from opaque. Self-described as a West Coast IPA, it surely fits the hop bite requirement of a true one, without being too bitter, at least for those that like this style. This also brings a solid malt body that enhances the flavor, without making it too sweet. Spectacular stratified glass lacing can bear witness to that. The aroma falls short of indicating how tasteful this is, but most people don't drink with their nose. Overall, this is an amazing IPA, much like a traditional one that includes sufficient malt to balance the hops, provide body and another taste layer. Then, it delivers a bite that most dedicated hops lovers should appreciate.
