I agree with other commentators that this is a malty IPA, however, bear in mind that, typically, the take on NW IPA on this side of the border had a stronger malt emphasis than in respect of our southern cousins. There is a bit of the dialyctal , but Sam Smith never took too much criticism for this. Overall an enjoyable (and sessionable) tipple.

Disjointed. More of a malty taste than I would expect in an IPA. Aroma is malt forward, the middle goes all over the place between malty richness and hoppy bitterness, finish is just bitter. IMO the ABV is too high without a balancing bitterness creating a fat malty IPA.

Mt. Arrowsmith Brewing 'Jagged Face IPA' @ 7.2% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $6.20
A-pour is gold from the bottle to a clear gold in the glass with a medium white off-head leaving a streaky lace along the pint
S-mellow & mild , no wow factor
T-crisp & clean , ok malt base , dry bitter swallow
MF-ok carbonation , feels full bodied
Ov-last sip was dissapointing

Serving: 650 mL bomber bottle (fresh from the brewery), poured into a small nonic glass.
Appearance: Nearly clear, gorgeous amber gold with a frothy head of thick, off white foam. Nice clumpy lace.
Smell: Full of fruits and grains. Citrus, tropical and stone fruit (orange zest, apricot Jell-O) blend nicely with caramel and granola.
Taste: Full but balanced hops and malt: graham crackers, caramel and juicy fruit (orange, grapefruit, pineapple) with just a hint of piney dank. Finishes with healthy but well integrated bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with a slightly oily feel and moderate carbonation. Hides its 7.2% ABV well.
Overall: Very drinkable juicy IPA that packs plenty of fruity flavor but stays nicely balanced.
